Fullback for Barcelona It is now official; Jordi Alba has no interest in leaving Camp Nou and plans to retire there.
After joining La Blaugrana in 2012, Alba quickly became a fan favorite and starter. This season marks Alba’s tenth year with the club.
Xavi has been in charge of the club’s rebuilding effort after it suffered significant on-field and off-field setbacks in previous years.
Alba, who is under contract with the team until 2024, recently discussed his future with Mundo Deportivo “I consider myself competent enough to stay in this position for the foreseeable future.
“When I’m on the field, I feel like I’m performing well, and when I’m not, I’ll do all I can to cheer for my team and mentor the younger players.”
He went on to say, “I want to continue doing well, I’ve been here at Barcelona for many years, and my objective is to stay here,” further indicating his desire to remain with the club.
Alba, when asked about reports that Inter made an offer for him this past summer, flatly rejected the rumors and said that he had a conversation with Xavi, who assured him that the team was dependent on him.
“There has always been chatter that I may join anotheranother club or go out on loan. It has always been my plan to remain in this area.
To this day, I intend to stay with the club until the conclusion of the season and for the duration of my contract. “I am a culĂ©, over these years I have worked hard for this club,” he said.
