France captain Hugo Lloris has emphasized that his team needed a lot of physical and mental power to beat Morocco and reach another World Cup final.
After defeating the Atlas Lions in Wednesday’s semi-final, Les Bleus will have the opportunity to defend their title against Argentina on Sunday.
Lloris made several outstanding stops to keep France ahead at Al Bayt Stadium, including diverting Jawad El Yamiq’s first-half overhead kick onto the post.
“We endured so much, and we come out fatigued but happy with the job achieved. We are giving ourselves a fantastic chance to introduce the French squad into football history. It’s the second final in four years,” Hugo Lloris said after the game.
“We were strong, we suffered when required, and not everything was great. We’ll need to mobilize all of our resources for Sunday. It will be a terrific final, Argentina has a great squad with a player who has made his sports history [Lionel Messi], but we have reasons to believe we can win.”

Lloris equaled Manuel Neuer’s record of most World Cup finals appearances for a male goalie in Wednesday’s semi-final, raising his total to 19.
If France wins the World Cup on Sunday, he will become the first player in World Cup history to lead his country to victory twice.
