Early in 2023, Jude Bellingham will choose his future amid interest from many of the sport’s most prestigious teams.
The 19-year-old is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Real Madrid all interested in signing him away from Borussia Dortmund in the next season.
Jude Bellingham, who excelled in central midfield for England at the World Cup finals, is now back in England for Christmas as the Bundesliga winter break continues. Indeed, Birmingham City supporters gave him a resounding welcome when he arrived at St. Andrew’s for their recent victory against Reading.
During his time off, Bellingham is anticipated to discuss his future options with his parents and agents, and insiders have indicated to 90min that his first choice will be whether or not to leave Dortmund in 2023.
This year, “allfootballleague” reported that Dortmund would want Bellingham to continue with the club for one more season, which would take him through the 2024 European Championships, which would be hosted in Germany.
Dortmund has persuaded Bellingham to follow the example of Erling Haaland, who remained with the club for an additional year despite intense interest from elsewhere and is now a star for Premier League champion Manchester City.
The city believes they are in a solid position to sign Bellingham, given that Pep Guardiola has extended his contract with the club for another two years, and they have included him in their future plans. Liverpool, meanwhile, believes that working with Jurgen Klopp would be appealing for Bellingham.
Real Madrid believes Carlo Ancelotti’s track record of nurturing young players – Vinicius Junior, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Rodrygo, to mention just three – will be a significant pull for Bellingham as he seeks to further his career.
If Bellingham decides to leave Dortmund, it will be in the summer of 2023 rather than in January, and “allfootballleague” understands that all three teams are pleased with their chases and think they have presented a solid argument for the player.
