With some magnificent play on the right wing, the Paris Saint-Germain player was in spectacular form during the 3-0 semi-final triumph against Croatia, winning a penalty and setting up one of Julian Alvarez’s two goals.
Messi scored five goals and provided three assists in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. With five goals in this tournament, the striker has become Argentina’s all-time leading World Cup goalscorer.
Messi delivered the following evaluation of the game and his country’s progress to the final to the press after the game: “I’m not sure whether this is my finest World Cup or not. I’ve been enjoying this for a long time. We were convinced that this crew could pull it off. We know who we are and want others to believe in us.
“We’ve gone through some difficult times and some good times. Today is a great day. I’m having a great time with all of these individuals and Argentines visiting our nation. I’m sure it’s insane.
