Bruno Fernandes has confessed that players are dissatisfied with the World Cup this year because of the time and the human rights problems in Qatar.
The world’s top leagues have temporarily suspended play for the winter spectacular in the Middle East, which is serving as the first-ever everever host of FIFA’s showcase tournament.
As of this writing, at least 6,500 people have lost their lives in Qatar since the country was granted the 2022 FIFA World Cup in December.
Even though thethe fact that homosexuality is punishable by death in Qatar, World Cup organizers have stated that “everyone is welcome” and that no one would be subjected to discrimination.
Fernandes stated after Manchester United‘s win over Fulham, “Of course, it’s unusual [the World Cup starting next week]. Our timing in the World Cup is not ideal. It’s not the finest time for everyone involved, athletes included. The scheduling of the games is not ideal, as most people will be at work or school during that time.
We are familiar with the World Cup’s setting and the events of the preceding weeks and months, including the tragic loss of life during stadium building. The news has not made us happy in the least.
Because the World Cup represents the entire planet, we believe that football should be accessible to everybody. It doesn’t matter who you are, since this is for everyone. Such things, in my opinion, have no place in society at any time. There should be a better way to organize the World Cup since it’s about more than just football. It’s a celebration for fans and players alike.
