Lionel Messi has attributed Argentina’s World Cup victory to head coach Lionel Scaloni, stating he enjoys playing for him.
Lionel Messi was in good form again as Argentina defeated Croatia 3-0 in the semi-finals, scoring once more to tie Kylian Mbappe for the Golden Boot.
Argentina had another wonderfully efficient performance in which Messi was again counted on to bring the magic, but he believes no one should dismiss Scaloni’s importance.
“I believe this squad is incredibly educated; they understand how to read the situations throughout each game,” Messi stated, according to Ole.”
“Scaloni said that he understands how to suffer when necessary, read the games, and know when to retire and push. He is an excellent instructor who does not leave anything to chance.
“He reveals every detail before it occurs. We knew the game would go this way, so we weren’t concerned.
“It was a highly significant match, and we prepared accordingly. We anticipated that they would have a lot of the ball and that we would have our opportunities. We prepared for the game well, like we usually do.
“I’m pleased, and I’m having a great time.”
Argentina will meet France or Morocco in the World Cup final on Sunday.
