Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to claims that he has negotiated a free move to join Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
According to allfootballleague, the 37-year-old has received a world-record contract offer from the Saudi Pro League club and will consider it in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week, the Spanish newspaper Marca said that Ronaldo has decided to join Al Nassr.
However, addressing the press following Portugal’s World Cup final 16 matches against Switzerland on Tuesday night, Ronaldo dismissed these rumors.
“No, that’s not true,” he responded.
Ronaldo is now without a club after unilaterally terminating his contract with Manchester United earlier in December after his explosive conversation with Piers Morgan.
He became the first player to score in five different World Cups while on international service with Portugal, scoring from the penalty spot in the Selecao’s 3-2 group stage triumph against Ghana.
However, following a terrible reaction to being replaced against South Korea, Ronaldo was benched for Tuesday’s match against Switzerland, and Portugal’s assault thrived in his absence.
At the Lusail Stadium, they won 6-1, with Ronaldo’s straight substitute in the starting lineup, Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos, scoring a hat-trick.
