Tyler Morton, who is spending this season on loan at Blackburn in the Championship, has signed a new long-term deal with his parent club, Liverpool.
Morton aged 20 in October and made nine appearances for Liverpool last season after Jurgen Klopp gave him his debut in the Carabao Cup in September 2021.
He joined Blackburn for the 2022/23 season in the summer and has appeared in all 26 of the Lancashire club’s league games this season. Rovers are now third in the Championship table and are pursuing a promotion to the Premier League after an absence of 11 years.
A new long-term contract at Liverpool demonstrates the club’s confidence in his future potential.
“I’m completely buzzing. Morton said on the club’s official website, “The small dream is coming true, and I couldn’t be happier.”
“I’ve known for a while, and negotiations have been continuing, and I couldn’t wait to get it done because here is where I want to be, and this is the team I want to play for. I am ecstatic, and I cannot wait for the future.
“I am pretty pleased with how I’ve managed the loan. I want to maintain this momentum throughout the second half of the season.
“Every day I feel like I’m growing and learning something new, both on and off the field. It is a wonderful setting for learning and becoming a professional, which I believe I am doing fairly well. Hopefully, it will prepare me for what is ahead.”
