“Allfootballleague” has learned that Chelsea has jumped ahead of Brighton in the hunt to recruit Ivorian teenager David Datro, Fofana.
Due to his goal-scoring prowess for Molde, the 19-year-old is one of the most highly regarded young attackers presently competing in Europe. Fofana scored 15 league goals for the Norwegian team in 2022 as they won their sixth Eliteserien championship.
Several Premier League teams are interested in Fofana because of his performance. In recent months, Brighton, Brentford, and Leicester City were among the clubs keeping an eye on the midfielder, but Chelsea has suddenly emerged as the frontrunner for his signing.
Brighton initially believed a deal was imminent, but Chelsea is currently negotiating.
Kyle Macaulay has been instrumental in Chelsea’s decision to increase their interest in Fofana, according to “allfootballleague.” The recruiting analyst who accompanied Graham Potter to London after his hiring at Stamford Bridge has identified Fofana as a potential target for Brighton and has carried his interest with him.
Fofana is not the only promising star Chelsea is currently interested in signing. The Blues are also in the lead to sign Croatian World Cup player Josko Gvardiol, who is present with RB Leipzig. They aim to finalize a deal soon.
