The Morocco Football Association (FRMF) has revealed that they have filed a complaint with FIFA about the refereeing during their semi-final loss to France.
French goals from Theo Hernandez and Randall Kolo Muani knocked the African team from the semi-finals on Wednesday, ending their mesmerizing journey this winter.
During the game, Morocco’s players became unhappy as referee Cesar Arturo Ramos denied their two separate penalty requests; consequently, the FRMF filed an official complaint.
A statement said, “The FRMF strongly rejects the arbitration of Morocco vs. France matches officiated by Mr. Cesar Arturo Ramos.”
“The FRMF issued a letter to the competent authority in which it calls on the arbitration scenarios which, in the view of several arbitration professionals, robbed the Moroccan squad of two indisputable penalties. The FRMF was particularly astonished that the Video Assistance to Arbitration (VAR) technology did not respond to specific arbitration scenarios.
“The FRMF reaffirms that it will spare no effort in defending and preserving the rights of the national teams by fighting for fairness in arbitration and by condemning these arbitration judgments made during this World Cup semi-final match.”
After losing in the semifinals, Morocco is now focused on Saturday’s third-place match against Croatia.
On the other side, France will face Argentina in the championship match.
