Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, has revealed that he is interested in acquiring Manchester United player Marcus Rashford as a free agent next summer.
Rashford’s contract with Manchester United is set to expire in June, but the Red Devils are anticipated to trigger an option to extend the term by a year in the near future.
Despite this, demand for the England forward’s services continues to rise. In an interview with Sky Sports, Al-Khelaifi fanned rumors of a PSG move for Rashford, which have been prevalent for some time.
“[Rashford] is another very remarkable talent,” he remarked. “And for nothing? If Rashford were available for nothing, every team would swarm for him.
“We’re not concealing anything; we’ve discussed it before and…there was interest. However, the situation was not favorable for either side. Summertime, why not?
Today, if he’s a free agent, we can speak to him directly, but we’re not going to. Let him concentrate on the World Cup, and if we’re interested, we’ll talk to him in January if he’s still available.
Rashford has an outstanding World Cup with England, having scored three goals thus far.
He came off the bench to score in a 6-2 thumping of Iran, then cut a memorable brace in a 3-0 win against Wales’ rivals.
