Tottenham has offered Harry Kane time off before returning to club football after England’s World Cup exit.
Harry Kane missed a crucial penalty in England’s 2-1 quarter-final loss to France on Saturday. He had already equaled Wayne Rooney’s all-time England scoring record with one early in the game.
However, after being eliminated from the competition, Gareth Southgate’s players are preparing to return to their respective clubs.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Kane is scheduled to return to Spurs’ Hotspur Way training camp on Monday, December 19. They play a friendly against Nice on December 21 before traveling to Brentford in the Premier League on Boxing Day.
Eric Dier, who played just 33 minutes at the World Cup, is also set to return to training the following Monday.
Son Heung-min will rejoin the Spurs squad on Tuesday, while three first-team members are still in Qatar for the week’s semi-finals.
Hugo Lloris captained the France team that defeated Kane and Dier’s England, becoming Les Bleus’s all-time appearance leader. On Wednesday, he will play Morocco.
Meanwhile, Argentina will face Croatia in the first semi-final on Tuesday, with Cristian Romero and Ivan Perisic facing off.
